"Volunteer to Help Cleanup After the Flood" The following is a message from Rev. Larry Siikanen, Conference Disaster Relief Coordinator:
As you are making plans to help out with the cleanup after the flood, please remember that we need to get as many houses cleaned up as we can before winter sets in so that furnaces can be fixed and the houses can be dried out. I look forward to hearing from you. People have been asking about how to volunteer to help, so here it is: 1) Get your team together or come by yourself. 2) Pick a date or dates that will work for you. 3)Call me (Larry Siikanen) at 570-898-8710 or email lsiikanen@susumc.org and I will get you assigned to an area to work. It's that easy. The Computer Ministry from Mission Central is here in Central PA!
If you have a computer to donate, please email Rev. Gene McCallips at SOC-StateCollege@comcast.net We provide a receipt that can be used to document your donation for tax purposes. We also erase all personal data as part of the refurbishing process. Machines that are recycled are dis-assembled at Mission Central. The hard drives of these machines are either destroyed or erased when they are installed in newer machines. Either way, your personal data is secure and your donation results in a tax donation. And even more importantly, you help provide a new computer for a missionary, school or ministry somewhere in God's world.
If you are a member of the United Methodist Church and would like to have your child baptized, or if interested in becoming a member, please see Pastor Ellen.
